http://hobbitsabroad.blogspot.com/ so I finally caught up on reading the adventures of D and T in Glasgow. I skipped most of the pictures :( but I will try to get back to those later. A lot to take in. I am pretty sure that Mrs. Augmento and Augmento, Jr. and I will make it through a year there although we may have to invest heavily in some space heaters and sun lamps once we get there. Most of the stuff we see online here won't work or will require a transformer over there. Transformers (as I know from my time in Asia) suck electricity all the time. So, the only thing I am sure will work are the computers and we may need to buy some wall socket circuit breakers for everything because it sounds like they have 'dirty power'. Hot water... I wonder if it is impertinent to ask letting agents about the hot water heaters, when were they installed, maintenance histories, etc...

The long answer. Back in 2006, I was disappointed with my raise. I went home and complained to my wife. On a practical bent, she asked what I could do about it. A scheme was hatched.
Step 1 I would take the GMAT.
Step 2 Go back to school full-time for a 1 year MBA.
Step 3 ?????
Step 4 Profit!

Rent or Sell

After consulting with a couple of real estate agents, we have decided to try and rent out our place as 'holiday rental'. The one agent thinks we will make more on a yearly basis that way. I would rather sell it as the wife and I are not fond of it at all and would much rather not have to make payments during our year without income.

sold the mazda

part in a move to having no car in Scotland and part in order to save money towards our year in glasgow, we have sold the mazda. Here in Tucson, this means that my wife and son have a lot less options during the day and that we will be running errands mostly after I get home from work. Public trans here is very nearly useless.
